Faculty Fellows

The Certificate in Health Equity and Health Disparities includes an interdisciplinary faculty who are nationally and internationally known for their work in health equity and health disparities.

Our faculty

  • approach health equity from a variety of disciplinary perspectives including communications, linguistics, nursing, public health, psychology, sociology, and urban planning;
  • have published in a many health related journals such as Communication & Medicine, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, Health Communication, Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences;
  • have received research support from a variety of funding agencies, including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Fulbright, National Alzheimer's Association, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and NIOSH Southern California Education and Research Center.
  • Are community leaders recognized for their work with community organizations such as city and county agencies, the National Alzheimer's Association, the Central City Lutheran Mission, and the Boy's and Girl's Club of Waterman Gardens.
